Much to the delight of many UBC students, Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle has opened its doors for business near the campus in Vancouver at the new development Wesbrook Village. After several months of renovations, they finally started serving their signature beef noodles on October 31st, 2012 to eagerly awaiting students. The UBC location is their first in Vancouver and third overall in Metro Vancouver with other locations in Aberdeen Centre in Richmond and also at Ambleside in West Vancouver.

Why did they choose this new location? “This is a new development area with growth potential and also the close proximity to the campus provides students the convenience to enjoy a full meal before or after class,” says Chef Hung UBC manager Andy. This year Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle won the prestigious award from Vancouver Magazine for the Best Noodle House. Along with this acclaimed recognition, Chef Hung has won numerous individual awards in his native country Taiwan and in China as well. As a result of these awards Chef Hung’s name is well established in both China and Taiwan for its excellence in beef noodles. This means with so many Chinese and Taiwanese students from abroad studying at UBC, Chef Hung is already a popular choice at the campus.

Andy reveals a potential location for their next Chef Hung restaurant if they do expand. “If we do expand then the Metrotown area is where we want explore because we don’t have a location in Burnaby yet!”

So what is the secret behind Chef Hung’s award winning beef noodles? Chef Hung’s secret recipe along with a flavourful soup broth that does not contain MSG and the best local beef yield the perfect beef noodle regarded by many as the best in town.

We just contacted their West Vancouver location and they said the UBC location will now open in October.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle, winner of this year's Vancouver Restaurant Awards for best noodle house, will open up its first Vancouver location at UBC this fall. This will be the third Lower Mainland location and second grand opening within a year. Just last November, the grand opening of the West Vancouver restaurant took place, much to the delight of beef noodle enthusiasts in the area. Originating from Taiwan, Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle made its North American debut with a location at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond. The award-winning signature beef noodle formula has since expanded to the USA and Mainland China.

Chef Hung Taiwanese Beef Noodle UBC will be located at the Wesbrook Village right across from Save on Foods.
